Far away from daily business but in the middle of the biggest skiing area from Austria you will find superb skiing slopes. All slopes give direct access to the town center, no cues for the lift and a lot of free space on the slopes. Filzmoos is absolute family friendly.

Ihr Winterurlaub in Filzmoos ist für alle da. Denn durch die breiten Pisten, nicht zu steil und immer top präpariert, kommen unsere jungen Pistenflitzer voll auf ihre Kosten. Angeblich gibt es im gesamten Alpenraum kaum ein Skigebiet, das so gut dafür geeignet ist, Skifahren und Snowboarden zu lernen. Der Skischulen warten darauf, Windelwedler und Ski-Anfänger darauf vorzubereiten, irgendwann einmal demnächst die Piste im eleganten Carving-Schwung downzuhillen. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist, dass das Skigebiet nicht überlaufen ist und es kaum Wartezeiten an den Liften gibt.
Cross country
In the heart of nature you will find versatile cross country tracks. For every level there are different tracks.
About 35 miles of tracks for starters or more experienced cross country skiers are available. Besides the classic tracks like the Übermoosloipe you can make your track on the more challenging Neuberg track. If you like a real challenge you could do the cross country track in hight at the Papageno-Höhenloipe on Rossbrand mountain. On 1.600m hight you have an amazing view on the surrounding alps.

Winter hiking
While making your hikes across nature you will experience the beautifulness of the Filzmoos nature.
You can start your hikes directly from the hotel. About 35 miles of prepared winter tracks will lead you through an impressive winter scenery. White trees and nice views on the village, and what about a nice stop in one of the idyllic huts to warm yourselves? Hike across the valley or on top of the Rossbrand with 360 degrees view, simply enjoy winter and Filzmoos at his best!
Snowshoe hiking
The snow changes the landscape into a magic scenery. The alps are covered with millions of snowflakes sparkling in the sunshine. A thick layer of snow cover the tree as if they belong into a fairytale. The top of the Bischofsmütze and Dachstein strike sharply into the open blue sky and you become one with your it during your walks.
Horse-drawn sleigh ride
Beautiful horses and sleigh rides are a tradition in Filzmoos. A trip trough the snow covered forests to one of the traditional huts
"Unterhofalm" or "Oberhofalm" is simply to romantic to describe!
Surrounded by the snow covered mountains and trees under a warm blanket you will glide through this magic scenery while you enjoy the sound of the horses, their bells and a breath taking view. This is a romantic alternation during your winter holidays in Filzmoos in Pongau county!
Horse-drawn sleigh ride from the meiZeit to the Unterhofalm or Oberhofalm

Tobbogan fun
From the Kleinberg you can enjoy a downhill route on a tobbogan down into Filzmoos. On a 1,9 mile route you can go easy or in race modus down as fast as you like it. A tobbogan is available for you to rent at the Kleinbergalm.
The tobbagan run is illuminated in the evenings so just race in the dark! A reservation is needed if you want to go in the evenings. With the ski lift Grossberg your journey to the Kleinberg Alm is just a couple of minutes. If you want to walk the average time is about 1 hour.
Skitouring
If you like to run on powdersnow Filzmoos is the perfect place for you. You will find powder snow on a number of 18 varied Skitouring tracks. Just walk uphill and make your tour to become an exciting powder snow downhill adventure!
A special tour is the Dachstein – Glacier crossing. This is a guided tour and only possible in good weather conditions. A good endurance and experience in parallel skiing is affordable. Of course our team is available to assist you planning your skitour.
